As this year draws to a close, we are proud to look back on some of our biggest achievements during 2018.
One of the main highlights has been, without doubt, Total Motion’s exciting partnership deal with Premiership rugby club Leicester Tigers.
As Tigers’ official vehicle supplier, we now look after the motoring needs of the club and its supporters – giving Tigers’ fans exclusive access to the Total Motion Affinity Scheme so they can enjoy discounted rates on a wide selection of vehicles.
Through this deal we have also supplied the Leicester Tigers Foundation community minibus and the club’s new training equipment and kit van.
Additionally, we are title partner for Leicester Tigers’ Rugby World Cup Preview Dinner on March 5 2019 and will continue to be involved in branding opportunities at Welford Road and events throughout the rest of the 2018/19 season.
With regard to recent accolades, Total Motion was thrilled to be named as 2018 Leicester Mercury Company of the Year in the Leicester Mercury Business Awards.
Our phenomenal sales growth, job creation, commitment to corporate social responsibility and proven track record in innovation all helped us to secure this coveted title.
And, recognition of this success has been national as well as local; for the third year running we were featured among the UK’s 1000 Most Dynamic SMEs published by the London Stock Exchange.
To make sure Total Motion stays dynamic, we constantly look at new ways to enhance our offer. In March, for example, we introduced Personal Contact Hire – allowing individuals, as well as businesses, to enjoy the various advantages of fixed-cost motoring. The launch of our new data and management information system in August has also helped ensure that clients receive the best possible vehicle management service
As part of our commitment to training and recruitment, we launched an apprenticeship drive in April which included an open day at our Meridian Business Park head office.
We’ve been busy recruiting bright, enthusiastic young people to work as apprentices in all areas of our business, including software and IT, accounting and finance, sales and marketing, customer services and vehicle engineering. Trainees get chance to work in a range of departments, and they receive some of the best rates of apprentice pay in Leicester.
Elsewhere in the company, we have been strengthening our teams in key areas such as accounts administration, sales support, quote and order, vehicle marketing and data analysis.
Every year Total Motion plays an active role in supporting the wider community, and 2018 has been no exception.
At the end of January, we exhibited at a national employment and careers fair aimed at helping ex-service personnel make the transition to civilian life.
The British Forces Resettlement Services (BFRS) event was held at Aldershot Garrison and attracted hundreds of visitors. It was the first time we’ve exhibited at a recruitment fair and we were overwhelmed by the great response.
In June, after months of training, preparation and hard work, cyclists from Total Motion completed a 118-mile charity bike ride from Leicester to Sheringham in aid of Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
We chose the hospital as our charity of the year for 2018 in recognition of the tremendous care it gives to Peyton Rowley, a little girl with an extremely rare condition whose dad, Jamie, is our logistics manager.
Our chosen charity for 2019 is Bodie Hodges Foundation (BHF), and among next year’s planned events is the second BHF Golf Day and a sponsored cycle ride from Leicester to Cromer via Bodie’s Boathouse.
BHF was originally established by Nick Hodges from Leicester in memory of his baby son Bodie who died following a choking accident in 2012. We have worked with BHF recently on several fundraising events and are proud to continue our support of the foundation’s amazing work as its official charity partner.
Simon Hill, managing director, said: “It has been another busy 12 months for Total Motion across all areas of the business, with the company enjoying a number of notable highlights despite the economic uncertainty wrought by Brexit and far-reaching changes in our industry.
“We’re very proud of our achievements but we know that none of them would be possible without the support of our loyal customers and dedicated staff.
“We would like to take this opportunity to wish you all the best for a prosperous 2019.”
